How to Collect SMS Consent during Shopify Checkout



To collect SMS consent during the checkout flow on Shopify, you must update your Shopify Settings first.

Log in to your Shopify store's admin account.

Click on Settings.

Click on Checkout.

Click Checkout

In the Consent for marketing section, fill in the checkbox for SMS marketing. Click Save.

You're all set! Now you can start collecting SMS subscribers through the checkout flow on your Shopify store.


Please note: Currently ONE can only collect single opt-in SMS consent from Shopify's checkout flow. This means under the Marketing section's Double opt-in area, you must leave the checkbox for SMS subscription unfilled. Once SMS double opt-in is available, we'll update this guide and notify you!

OPTIONAL - If you'd like to change the label of your SMS checkbox, you may do so by following these steps:

Go to Checkout and accounts, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Manage checkout language.


Type sms into the search bar. Then in the field Accept sms checkbox label, you may enter a customized label here. Click Save.
